Rubric builder

Describe the task. Get a rubric you can actually mark with.

It reads your description for the things game work is normally judged on, picks the criteria that match, and writes four levels for each. Every cell is editable in place, so treat what comes out as a first draft with the boring half already done. It will tell you which words in your description triggered which criterion.

Or try one:

Click any cell to edit it. Weights are percentages and they do not have to total 100.
Total marks 100, spread across 5 criteria. Weights currently sum to 100 percent.

Before you hand this to a class

What a rubric cannot do

This picks criteria by matching words in your description against a list of things game work is usually judged on. It does not understand your task, it does not know your students, and it has no opinion about whether the task is any good. The level descriptors are written to be honest about game artefacts rather than borrowed from essay marking, which is the main thing wrong with most rubrics used for this subject, but they are still generic until you edit them. The fastest useful edit is to put a concrete example from your own class into the Secure column, because that is the level most students are aiming at and the one they argue about. If you want to know whether the task itself can be handed to a model, that is a different question and Assignment triage answers it.

Runs entirely in this tab. Nothing is sent anywhere, nothing is stored, and your edits live only until you close the page. Download the CSV if you want to keep it.
